We started off the Spring Term by exploring penguins and polar animals. The children had great fun in our ice cave. They also investigated animals which were frozen in ice, thinking about melting. We made wonderful penguins from shapes.
We moved onto reading traditional tales. We tapped pins into shoes and had a great time in our shoe shop, trying on, buying and selling footwear whilst learning about The Elves and the Shoe Maker. We had a go at our own sewing.
Next we used recycled materials to make straw, stick and brick houses, whilst learning about The Three Little Pigs. Wolves were huffing and puffing and pigs were thinking of ways in which they could defeat the wolf.
We finished the half term by trip trapping over bridges as The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children loved role playing and trying to convince the troll to let them pass. We made stick puppets and used instruments to add sound effects to the story. Another great half term!
