Absence
Planned Absence
Parents may request up to ten days a year absence for their children to go on a family holiday.
This request should be made on the appropriate form, which is available from the school office.
Children only attend for 190 of the 365 days each year and we ask that you try to keep all requests for absence to a minimum.
Doctors or dental appointments
If your child has an appointment or needs to leave school at any time other than the end of the day an adult must collect them from the school office. A note should be sent to the class teacher requesting release from the class at the required time.
Absence from School
Parents/guardians have the responsibility to inform school of a child’s absence on the first day, either in person or by telephone. The school secretary will phone to check absences where we haven’t been informed.
If your child arrives at school late, you should bring them via the school office so that they can be added to the register. Lateness can be deemed as an unauthorised absence.
If time away from school has a pattern of frequent, occasional days or no specific reason is forthcoming, school will notify the School Attendance Officer in order that an investigation can be instigated.
