School Meals
To foster a secure family atmosphere Reception class children eat their midday meal, a packed lunch, in their classroom.
Children attending full-time from Year 1 may purchase a school lunch. The meals are freshly cooked and brought to the school from Dussindale Primary School each day. The school operates a set menu system. A copy of the menu can be obtained from the school office.
Lunch money is payable in advance on a Monday morning. Please send £2.00 per day to school in a sealed envelope or purse, clearly labelled with your child’s name, class and the days that lunches are required. If you are paying by cheque, please make cheques payable to ‘Norfolk County Council’.
The school can advise if you feel you may qualify for free school meals for your child.
If your child has any special dietary requirements please see the office staff.
Children may also bring a packed lunch. Please ensure that this is sent in an unbreakable container with a properly fitting and clearly named lid. Ensure that drink containers are spill proof and not made of glass. Peanuts should NOT be included.
Snacks
At morning break there is the opportunity for children to eat a snack. Those children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 are provided with fruit as part of the Government Fruit Scheme. Children in Key Stage 2 can bring their own snack to school or take advantage of our ‘Tuck Stop’, which sells healthy snacks and is run by the children themselves. As we have been awarded ‘Healthy School’ Status, we encourage children to bring healthy snacks to school (e.g. fruit, vegetables, breadsticks etc).
Water
It is very important both for children’s health and for their learning that water is available for them to drink at all times. We do have water fountains in school but we also ask that a named plastic bottle is brought each day so that water is available in the classrooms at all times. These bottles should only contain water, not a fruit based drink.
We sell drinking bottles at the school office for £1.10. Replacement caps are also available for 15pence.
