Key Stage One
Welcome to Key Stage 1
In Key Stage 1 we have two Year 1 classes for children aged 5-6 and two Year 2 classes for children aged 6-7, which are situated along the same corridor. Our classrooms are well resourced, have interactive whiteboards and all classes have a full time teaching assistant.
We teach a broad and exciting cross-curriculum through an enquiry based approach in which the children are encouraged to be creative, ask questions and learn essential knowledge. We encourage our children to celebrate their uniqueness, be caring towards others and adopt a healthy lifestyle. We use many strategies to engage and involve the children including drama, imaginative enquiry and outdoor learning. There is a good balance between independent and adult supported tasks throughout the day.

We encourage good links with our parents through weekly newsletters, curriculum updates, class assemblies and weekly reading mornings. The curriculum is extended through the provision of many lunchtime clubs, regular class trips and special events.
Our Test Results for 2009 ( key stage one)
We are very pleased with the high standards our children achieve. By the end of key stage one last year our children performed higher than most other schools in Norfolk and Nationally. Nearly all of our children achieved at least level 2 in every subject. Well done everyone.
