Music Activities
There are lots of opportunities to take part in musical activities. Key stage one children can join ‘Sing and Move’ on Thursdays at 12.30. Singing Quavers for years three and four is on Tuesday lunchtime at 12.30. Hillside Singers meet every Monday lunchtime at 12.30. All of our choirs have opportunities to perform to parents at our Christmas Carol service and concerts arranged during the year.
From year 4 onwards children can ask about learning to play a musical instrument. We offer lessons in drums, guitar, ‘cello, violin, clarinet, flute and brass. Parents are asked to contribute to the cost of these lessons, which take place in school time. Children who play musical instruments are invited to join the school orchestra, which meets on a Tuesday afternoon at 3.15.
