Friends of Hillside
Welcome to The Friends of Hillside Avenue
The Friends of Hillside Avenue (The Friends) aim to support the work of Hillside Avenue Primary and Nursery School and to foster good relationships between all individuals and bodies connected with the school. The Friends arrange events, raise funds and support the school in many other ways and our website helps us to promote those activities.
Fundraising
The Friends organise many fundraising events throughout the year. We are involved in a variety of ways from supplying school uniform, organising the Summer Fete and the Christmas Fayre and running the photograph sessions. Whether the events are in school time or out of hours, the staff and committee do this on a voluntary basis. Together with the parents and carers that join in these events they help raise vital funds for the school whilst offering additional activities for the children, parents and carers.
The money raised is used for many things including funding classroom play equipment for playtimes, contributions towards school trips and books. In 2021 we contributed towards the new playground lines, the extension to the KS2 adventure play equipment and the new climbing wall on the KS1 playground.

- After launching our first lottery scheme through the Broadland Community at Heart Lottery in 2021, we have already raised £1,070. Tickets are available for as little as £1 a week with no long term commitment.
Second-hand school uniform
We hold regular preloved uniform sales, with plenty of stock available at pocket money prices.
The price list is below. Requests can also be made via any of the contact options detailed below. If you have any old or outgrown uniform in a saleable condition then we would be pleased to accept any donations too. These can be left in a bag in the School Office reception area or passed to a member of the Committee.

NCPTA Membership
The Friends of Hillside are members of the NCPTA, they provide a full range of support services from fundraising ideas to Health & Safety guidance. In association with this organisation is PTALocal which brings you some great vouchers for top visitor attractions, holidays and other venues. Registration is required.
