Start and end of day
Start of the school day
School opens for children at 8:45 each morning.
Access to school is either through the front pedestrian gate or the school field gate. Please arrive as near to 8:45am as possible. Doors are open between 8:45am and 8:55am so that children can enter school as soon as they arrive.
Staff welcome children at the entrances and are able to take any brief messages from parents.
Children in Reception enter through the Reception class entrance; Year 1 and Year 2 at the canteen doors on the small playground; Year 3 and Year 4 through the main (office) entrance; and Year 5 and Year 6 through the top door from the large playground.
On arrival, children go straight to their classrooms where they hang up their coats and bags and begin 'Start of Day Activity' (SODA) learning. | |
If children arrive late after 8:55am, the doors will be closed and entry to school is through the main office entrance only. The office staff will ask children about their lunch requirements and they will be marked 'late' in the school register. Children arriving late will be escorted from the office to their classrooms. Please note that persistent late arrival amounts to unauthorised absence and is dealt with in accordance with the Trust attendance policy.
Nursery
Nursery begins at 8:30am and children enter the Nursery at the Nursery classroom door. Nursery ends at 3:30pm (11:30am for those who finish at the end of the morning session) and children are collected from the Nursery door.
End of the school day
School ends at 3:15pm each day. Children in Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 leave from the canteen doors onto the small playground; Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 leave through the top door onto the large playground and Reception leave from their Reception classes door.
School is open for 32.5 hours each week.
