In RE at Hillside Avenue we aim to show the children that people have a range of beliefs and faiths. We will ensure and children leave us with knowledge of the six major religions and understand some of the beliefs and celebrations from each of these religions. Most importantly the children should understand that we are all different. Some people have faith and others do not, both are ok and all should be respected. Children should develop a tolerance of other people’s beliefs, lifestyle choices, thoughts and opinions and expect others to respect theirs. An ability to discuss sensitively and openly, topics based around religious education will be fostered.
