Lunch Menus
The meals at Hillside Avenue School are freshly cooked by Aspens in our school kitchen. The school operates a menu system, a copy of which is available below.
Lunches will need to be ordered and paid for through the ARBOR Parent Portal https://login.arbor.sc/(daily rate £2.50).
Children who are entitled to Free School Meals and Children in Reception , Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Free School Meal under the government's Universal Free School Meal initiative will still need to order meals via the Parent Portal but will not be charged.
If you feel your child may be entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) visit the Norfolk County Council website, where you will find further information on eligibility and be able to make an online application. For further detail and to apply click here
If your child has any special dietary requirements please see the office staff.
Children may bring a packed lunch instead of ordering a school meal. Please ensure that packed lunches are sent in a suitable lunch bag or container which is clearly named. Ensure that drink containers are spill proof.
Nuts should NOT be included.
SnacksAt morning break there is the opportunity for children to eat a snack. Children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with fruit as part of the Government Fruit Scheme. Children in Years 3,4,5 and 6 can bring their own snack to school. As we have been awarded ‘Healthy School’ Status, we ask that children bring healthy snacks to school (e.g. fruit, vegetables, sultanas, breadsticks, cheesy biscuits but not chocolate, sugary items or crisps).
WaterIt is very important both for children’s health and for their learning that water is available for them to drink at all times. We ask that a named plastic water bottle is brought each day so that children can access their water in the classrooms and at breaktimes. These bottles should only contain water, no fruit based drinks and no squash please. |
